Ever wonder comparing the art from land and art from sea? Art is art, but it all forks the road with regards to where it came from. Not just your ordinary museum, the Australian National Maritime Museum, at the Darling Harbour, houses an array of art, with a coverage blanketing as far as history could take us.
As a legal authority under the Australian Government, the maritime museum art pieces range from the aborigines of Australia to the navy. You could also find pieces of passengers of convicts to regular people, even the commerce at sea. Exhibitions like the photographic and art features of the Tasman light and the mechanism and lens of the lighthouse. Or you could browse thru their extensive collection of artifacts.
The space at the quayside showcases the armada of boats and ships, which includes the 1920 Krait, Z Special Forces Commando Raider of World War II, which is actually loaned by the Memorial of the Australian War, the Daring Class destroyer, HMAS Vampire used in 1956, the James Craig Merchant ship of 1874, even an Oberon class submarine, the former Royal navy ships of Australia.
And if you get famished while on tour, you could take a detour at Yots Café, open air, relaxing and has a stunning view of the Darling Harbour and order up some snacks or lunch for heavy biters, like the prawns flambéed with Pernod, garlic and dill served with a side of snow peas.
Whether it’s a high sea adventure you seek or an educational school tour you wish, the museum will surely make the history a thing of the past no more.   Collapse
